Coach In Zimbabwe Soccer Match-Rigging Scandal Leaves Team

Gishon Ntini, coach of Zimbabwe's scandal-tarnished Shooting Stars when the team allegedly conspired with Dynamos of Harare to fix a Premier Soccer match at the end of the recent season, said Thursday he will not renew his contract with the club.

Ntini said he has been approached by five other clubs but has not decided which one he will join. Shooting Stars Director Joel Sengeredo confirmed that Ntini is leaving and said his board will meet this week-end to consider replacement candidates.

Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe spoke with Ntini, who said he is satisfied with his contribution to Shooting Stars and is looking forward to working with another football team.
