Zimbabwe's Highlanders Headed For African Champions Competition

Premier Soccer League log leaders Highlanders Football Club has confirmed it will take part in the African Champions League competition next year.

The decision was reached Sunday in an extraordinary meeting of the team’s board, and was to be communicated shortly to the Zimbabwe Football Association and the Premier League. The team has budgeted Z$240 million (US$960,000) to finance its participation in the tournament, which it has contested three times before.

Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye asked sports commentator Michael Kariati in Harare whether he thinks the Highlanders club has the talent and the stamina to make it to the African Champions final given that it has fallen short on previous attempts.
