South African based player Zvenyika Makonese is to captain the Zimbabwe Warriors team in a friendly match against Namibia on Wednesday at Rufaro Stadium, Harare.
Team captain Benjani Mwaruwaru was unavailable due to commitments to his British employer, Portsmouth. Zimbabwe's Warriors are preparing for an Africa Cup qualifier against Morocco and are under pressure to be ready for the event following their dispiriting performance in October against Malawi in an away match.
Nonetheless, Zimbabwe is favored to best the Namibian soccer squad.
