Zimbabwe's president has delivered a blistering denunciation of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice at a political rally in Harare.
Robert Mugabe called Secretary Rice "a slave to white masters" in Washington. At her Senate confirmation hearing last month, Ms. Rice included Zimbabwe in a list of countries she labeled as "outposts of tyranny".
Mr. Mugabe made his remarks today (Friday) at the launch of his party's (ZANU-PF) campaign for next month's parliamentary elections. Posters at the event took aim at what they said are the opposition party's ties to British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The posters said Mr. Mugabe's ruling party would bury Mr. Blair and his puppet, a reference to the country's main opposition party (MDC). Britain supported the contention that Mr. Mugabe's party rigged parliamentary elections in 2000.
